We enjoyed a great day at Walton Heath, a good turnout of 24 players including six guests and injured Alex Fleet joining us for lunch. The persistent rain from the previous week gave way to dry but foggy days leading up to our event, but thankfully we had a clear but very chilly dry day.
We returned to the RAC this year to face a fast running track with baked fairways and punishing rough. 15 of us braved the Old Course and Rob Huxford won through on countback from Paul Ruddlesdin with 38 points. Your President & Secretary both scored 34. Our Hon. Member Jeremy Williamson won the Guest Prize
We had a strong turn out in the end of 23 including six guests. The weather was dry but the days challenges included 6 holes of fog that rolled in thick and fast making it tricky even for those who thought they knew the course! Our winner with a fine 37 points was Dan Burstow
The meeting started in the Dining Room at Royal St. George’s where an excellent breakfast was consumed before heading out to the 10th Tee. We were joined for the first time by 2 young OJ’s, Ed Fairfax and Ben Rigby. Ed managed to disguise his Veganism over the weekend as he didn’t want to starve.
