Autumn Society Day at Pycombe

OHJGS Autumn Meeting 2015
Friday 9th October at Pyecombe Golf Club

Attending: John Fraser (captain), Dan Burstow, Bob Carter, Rob McCowen, Philip Ayton, Graham Negus, Rick Holgate and honorary OJ golfer Jeremy Williamson.

What a difference a day makes!
In early May we had a match here against the College pupils, and could hardly stand up in gale force winds. This time we were bathed in glorious, warm sunshine and it was wonderfully calm.

The course was in great condition, and we played in 2 groups of 4 balls for the Lowe Cup.

The ever canny Rob McCowen came in first with 35 points, closely followed by Rick Holgate on 34 points (ruing the 2 short putts he missed), and Bob Carter third with 31 points.

We then drove locally for dinner at The Bull in Ditchling, where local resident Bill Baxter walked round the corner to join us.

This just leaves one more meeting this year, on Friday 4th December at Walton Heath, where we will be playing for the St Etheldreda Cup.
