2023 Summer Meeting at RAC

Despite an appallingly low turnout the vast majority of participants enjoyed their day at the RAC Country Club.

We were blessed with a nice day so soon after the wet and windy weekend.

We played for the President’s Cup in the morning on the Old Course. Conditions were testing with fast running fairways and extremely penal rough. Martin Dancy (on tour from New Zealand) triumphed on countback from your Hon Sec with 36 points.

The Guests Prize was won by Andy MacFarlane with a superb 41 points.

A long relaxing lunch was held on the terrace before we headed out to the Coronation Course to play foursomes for the Stratford Tazzas. The consensus at lunch was to hold the competition over 9 holes to avoid too late a finish. Martin Dancy continued his good play alongside his partner John “Pothunter” Fraser to win over VC Rob Huxford & John Waterfall.

Prizes were presented on the terrace before we retired and looked forward to the Open.
